How to NOT eat food you know you should not be.

I got inspired by Geosomin' s blog about her date with Mr. Beer and Ms. Popped corn.
Eating yummylious food  for as much as i want and not get sick/ fat will probably be one of my 3 wishes if i have a genie that will grant me the wishes.

If you have been reading, you will know that I am a low carber. It has become clear to me, diary and wheat/ grains makes my stomach and skin flare up. It is not what my body wants. However. I was hooked on all that yummylicious process stuff that my body didn't like. I figure out if i "ate" milk (aka ice-cream) even if it was just 1 scoop, it messes with my stomach for a week. If it was wheat/ grains I will have a break out which will take me approx. 2 months to get over it. Clearly not what i need and want.

At the end of Jan, i decided that I have been on and off low carb for long enough to do it flat out, and simply, i had enough of this madness of putting food in my mouth and expect the discomfort to kick in within hours of enjoying the food.

Here is what i did to put it in a picture for myself. It's kind of like kinder garden "good job" stickers. The Red bunnies chops are the days i feed my body in the way that it needs. The Blue piglet chop are the days that; well, i was being a pig. I aim to have a sea of bunnies until my birthday 15Aug.

This is very simply, but i have found it very motivating and empowering to be able to SEE if i am doing the right thing!
Keep up the good work, take one day at a time!!!

WE ARE ALL A WORK IN PROGRESS!

Show some love!!!!!

This blog goes out to coachtemplar and other who are very attached to that number that appears on the bathroom scale. Believe I used to be one.

The ones who has been with me from the beginning might know that I have not lost hardly any lbs. Yes, that’s right. From all the ass kicking, sweat breaking sessions, the bathroom scales decided that it likes to point between 124 - 127lbs (that’s my weight when I first started working out again) but I recently discovered that my progress is actually a lot better than what it seems. Here is how you can “rethink” the number your bathroom scales has been telling you:

Ok, so you might ask, what's her point? What I am trying to say is, even my weight did not change much, but when you plot the data out, I can see that I am on the right trend. A decline in fat mass, and an incline in my lean mass. Granted that is not a fast progress, but when you put it into context, that is a whoooooooooooooooooooping 7.64lbs of fat lost and 8.74lbs of muscle gain.

(I updated the graph 15/7/2011 because the one before was wrong!!!!)

Another note that i should make is that i do weekly averages on my weight and body fat %. which means my readings are even more accurate. I am not in it to fool myself. For me personally, the more the data, the marrier.

Hope you found this usefull and makes you wanna jump on the scales everyday!

What did i fail? I just done my day 60 InBody Body Composition Analysis, the report suggest I have actually gained Body fat in the pass 30days.

Honestly, i have been kicking my own ass at the gym, with every session, i would either up my weight or up my rep. I feel stronger, but I don't feel slimmer. here are my stats....

the American Council on Exercise has categorized ranges of body fats into four types, namely athletes (6-13% for men, 16-20% for women); fitness (14-17% for men, 21-24% for women); acceptable (18-25% for men, 25-31% for women) and obese (25%+ for men, 32%+ for women).

I am not saying i want to be at 5% body fat, but frankly even 24 % just doesn't cut it for me anymore.... I want to be at 20% body fat! Right..... my thinking hat is on, let's help my body to figure out what is not working!!!!

Happy days!

A quick note about my P90X, yesterday i was suppose to do X Stretch, i did 50mins cross trainer machine on an interval setting, and today i am suppose to be doing Cardio X, i've hit the gym and did a Bodycombat class.

More details to come.

3 weeks = 6lbs less

Back on day 10 of P90X Lean, i have told myself to stay away from the scale as much as possible because i do not want those little numbers that appeared from that evil little window to dictate how i am going to feel for the rest of the day.

To my surprise, i went onto the scale last night and found myself weighting 6lbs less!!!! I am on day 23 of P90X LEAN, and let's see if those 6lbs stays off or it was just a freak incident which made the scales decided to be nice to me.

Happy Sunday everyone and hope you are enjoying the day :)

P90X Lean Day0- before

Hello everyone. Here is ME!!! As you might have gathered i have began my P90X program and it has taken me way too long to update my blog here! Sorry to have kept you guys waiting!

For those of you have been following my blog, you might remember that i am a fan of fad diets but i do study and do them by the book. Keeping the same spirt in mind, P90X requires a photographic record of the body of which you have began with and here are mines. I ain't going to cheat on the program nor on myself! The picture are all fine by me as i am a firm believer that a picture speaks a thousand words.

Don't laugh. the poses are the ones on request by P90x!!! and sorry for the "funky" color difference between the shots.....

The stats are in!!!!

I went to the gym twice yesterday. A bodypump class at lunch and a spinning class after work. I also went for my first Body Composition Analysis in a long time. The special scale is by Inbody, the version i was using was much older version. The report didn't look any where as funky, but it was informative, if you are a gym member, it is highly possible that you will be able to get a report free of charge, a word of advice would be you might get hassled by Personal Trainers....

Just a little bit more back ground of Body Composition Analysis for those that are interested... for those who knows already, please bear with me! The special scale requires you to stand on it barefoot on the scale, whilst holding two sensors in your hands. The Scale than send some magic wave through your body and calculate how much body fat, muscle, and water etc. in your body. The scale takes into account your gender, age and height.

So my status are as follows:
Height: 160cm
Age: 29
Weight: 56.7kg
Soft Lean Mass: 37kg
Body fat: 17kg
Percentage Body Fat: 30% (28% being Normal)
Nutrition Status: Protein, Fat, Mineral are all Normal
Upper Lower Balance: Arm: Underdeveloped    Leg: Normal
Right Left Balance: Arm: Balance    Leg: Balanced

My fluid diagnosis are normal for my arms, trunk and legs, however there are more fluid in my legs. The report suggest that in order for me to maintain this weight, i require the same amount of work out and to consume 1,293.6kcal per day. my BMI is 22.2kg. The report suggest that i am to bring my weight down  by 3.5kg and reduce my fat content by 4.7kg, and gain 1.2kg in muscle

Fitness Score: 74 Points

All very interesting stuff by standing on a speical scale for less than 2 mins!!!!
