This might help you to stop being hungry all the time!

I am the kind of gal who can eat a full blown all day breakfast and can do it all over again immediately afterwards. I am always hungry. Very often i scares the people who are dining with me as to just how much i can eat. I LOVE eating. Love love love love love, and honestly, i am get hungry easily.

So i was just browsing on the Internet and cam across this article in Mens Health

Researchers at Flinders University in Australia found that visual distractions can help curb cravings. To test yourself, envision a huge, sizzling steak. If you’re truly hungry, the steak will seem appealing. But if that doesn’t seem tempting, chances are you’re in need of a distraction, not another meal.

Honestly, i have been kicking my own ass at the gym, with every session, i would either up my weight or up my rep. I feel stronger, but I don't feel slimmer. here are my stats....

I am not saying i want to be at 5% body fat, but frankly even 24 % just doesn't cut it for me anymore.... I want to be at 20% body fat! Right..... my thinking hat is on, let's help my body to figure out what is not working!!!!

Tipping point

May be you have been wondering what has helped me to stick with my fitness program, or a even better question would be: what made this little (at a healthy weight) Chinese girl turn into a gym rat?

I will be honest with you, it was not for health reason, it was not for personal growth, it was because my boyfriend said something to me and pushed me over that tipping point.

I used to grumble about my weight and my wobbling bits (and still do) to my boyfriend. Sometime back in Oct 2010, as i do, grumbling to my boyfriend again and he said to me, with out turning to look at me "there is no point complaining about it, you know exactly what you need to do"

As soon as my brain computed what was said to me, it was as if i heard a huge snap in my head. That was it, that was the tipping point for me. I NEEDED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!

Don't get me wrong, to me, that was very cruel thing to hear, but that was what i needed to kick my lazy ass. AND i thank him for doing it and being honest with me and not gloss over the ugly truth. In my case, he was being cruel to be kind and i love him for that!

Have you reached your tipping point, or more importantly, do you know where to find it?
Tell me what was your worst tipping point so far in your life!
Good luck to you all!

P90X Lean Day57- Phase III

Hello readers, it has been a while since i last updated my blog. So today is my first day of Phase III of my P90X program.

Chest and Back.

It was hard!!! But i did much better than i thought i was going to, before i started i actually watched the different moves and decided that i am going to set a rep goal that is going to be hard to achieve in good form when round 2 kicks in.

My goal was 12reps for the push ups, and for the pull ups i set the goal at weight assistance at 70lbs, 14 reps per set. In total today i did 84rep weight assisted pull ups and 130 push up of various kinds. Admittedly most of my push ups were done on my keens, but i aim to be able to do the 130 push ups on my toes by the end of the Phase III.

The hardest of all of the push ups was the Dive-Bomber Push-up.

seriously. this dude is making it look so easy! I managed 4 in some sort of form and if Zuzana only managed 5 i guess i am doing well (even the form is bad!). I wish Andre was there to tell me if i was doing it in good form!

Watch this space since my 60day photos are coming out soon!!! :)
Have a good week end everyone!

So you think you know about FAT? Did you know about this….?

I've recently finished reading my ebook Practical PALEO Nutrition Guild Book, I came across something that I did not know before.

Some of you might know that I am on a  real, natural foods low carb diet for as much as possiable. I am no longer afraid of eating fatty foods (occasionally, oh and I recently binged 2 days in a row on cakes and cookies);

I don’t really believe a low fat diet is the way to go in regards to losing weight, for me, however, for me this alone is the BEST reason why I am watching out the fat that I am eating especially at the same time I am trying to reduce the amount of toxins in my body (hens why I am cutting out all process foods).
SO ARE YOU READY?

Fat is the storage for Toxins/ hormones/ chemicals residual/ antibiotics and many many more things that you and i rather not know about.  So if you are eating fatty meat which came from a commercially farmed animals, you are very highly likely to be consuming a lot of toxins.

Your next question might be, how does it get there in the first place!

The answer is, animals are now feed with corn, grain, pallets that contains fillers, chemicals and goodness know what else they have been jab with to keep them "healthy"! Don’t think that by avoiding taking antibiotics from the doctor when you are sick, you are keeping yourself and loved ones safe from building up a resistance towards them. If you are eating a lot of fatty meat, you might also be building up an resistance due to the indirect absorption.

Be afraid people. Commercially farmed meat/ fish must be consumed lean. That is the only way to go.

New Mile Stone

Day 47. I consider today is a new mile stone for me on my P90X program. I have always tried to push up my reps and / or the weight i am lifting in my P90X LEAN program. The only one that I did not manage to do so is my Pull-ups. I’ve been trying for the past 3 weeks to bring down the weight assisted on my pull ups down to 70lbs I am glad to tell you that I have finally managed my 144reps, weight assistant set at 70lbs. I am lifting 44.4% of my actual body weight.

I am hoping by the end of the P90X LEAN Program to bring down the weight assistance to 60lbs; with me lifting 52.4% of my body weight. Not an easy goal, but I will push for the high bar.

Surrounded by people but feeling all alone

Have you ever had one of those??? I am having one of those days. Actually I have been feeling as if I am all alone for quite a few days now. Not sure why that is, maybe it is lack of sleep, I hope it is. May be I just need a break from everyone. Everything. At least that way i do not have to put a positive front to all my actions and words.....

Sick little monkey

Thank you for coming back my curious readers. Sorry I have been a sick little monkey since Friday!!!! I am feeling much better now, however not a 100%! But that doesn’t mean I have not been working out! I took Sunday off my P90X program and rested. I am glad to let you know that I am on track again with my program. Tomorrow is my work out for Legs and back, which I did not do too well last week. I hope I will be able to do better this week! Stay tune and I will let you know how I get on!

Do you know what is making you FAT????

Have you figured what is making you fat yet?

I am not talking about, you know, the common stuff. i.e. eating too much and not working out.
I am talking about have you figured out WHAT FOOD is making YOU fat. That’s right. What is it?

Challenge your mind with this:
If vegetables (apart from root vegetables like potatoes) is the super food that is supposed to be so good for you that it is almost impossible to make you gain weight, than why are  Hippo are so FAT????

How about wales? They eat micro organisms for gods sakes…. Yet why are they the largest mammal on planet earth?

So going back to my brain twister, what does your logic tells you? Is it really the fatty food making you over weight? Is the really the carbs?

I personally believes there is no one size fits all. Use your own logic and judgment to help you to identify what is your body trying to tell you. Use your judgment on stuff you read about “diets” really, no body knows how you feel but yourself.

What is your thought on this?!

HIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you might know, I have been lazy last week and now I am paying the price. I did my HATA yoga yesterday lunch time, and I went back to the gym after work to do my Core Synergisitcs. Don’t ask me why, but I was sweating big time when I was doing my core workout, which normally doesn’t.

This morning, I got up at 6:00am and off I went to the gym to do my Legs and Back. I felt weak especially during my weight pull ups, and I could only manage the following:
@70lbs weight assistance
·         Reverse Grip Chin Ups 1set x15reps
·         Wide Front Pull Ups 1set x 15reps
·         Close Grip Overhead Pull-ups 1 set x 6+5+4 (+ short break)
@80lbs weight assistance
·         Reverse Grip Chin Ups 1set x12reps
·         Wide Front Pull Ups 1set x 12reps
·         Close Grip Overhead Pull-ups 1 set x 12reps

Compared to my last week’s record
All at @80lbs weight assistance
·         Reverse Grip Chin Ups 2set x12reps
·         Wide Front Pull Ups 2set x 12reps
·         Close Grip Overhead Pull-ups 2 set x 12reps
·         Reverse Grip Chin Ups 2set x12reps
·         Wide Front Pull Ups 2set x 12reps
·         Close Grip Overhead Pull-ups 2 set x 12reps

Not impressed with the huge step back I have taken.
I have yet to catch up with my Ab Ripper X and Cardio X! There is nobody to blame by myself…..

I've also discovered that i can not work out after work, because i have so much adrenaline in my blood afterwards, i can not sleep due to the natural high!!!!

Anyway, I hope to get back on track soon and do keep an eye on this speace and let me know any tips on how to stay motivated.

Good Calories, Bad Calories

I do not read often, because my reading speed is very slow. However, i have picked up a second hand copy of Good Calories, Bad Calories. The book is 468pages long in font 12.

I plan to be finished with this book by the time i finish with P90x. The thing about this book is it challenge the traditional dieting approach. The author has spent 7 years in reading before this book was completed. Here is a taste of what the book is about.

Part 1

Part 2

Will let you know bits and pieces of it as i read the book.

How was your week?

Hello followers. Sorry that I have been a lazy ass and not been keeping you guys on the loop with my P90x progress. I am sad to report that last week i did hardly anything. Apart from the Chest, Shoulders Triceps + Legs & Back DVDs along with the Hata Yoga and spinning, i have not been following my P90x schedule. I missed my Core Synergistics and my Cardio X. The worst is that applies to this weeks’ worth as well plus I have been eating processed carbs over the weekend. To put it bluntly, i have a complete P90x meltdown!!!!

So to restart, and undo the wrong i am on a NO CARB diet for the remainder of Phase 2 and is going to repeat week 5 on my “rest week” I hope that way i will be back on track. I owe this to myself. I refuses to let this bring me down.

I will complete my P90x ontime. I hope you will be there with me on my jounry.
